BWI’s Transitional & Independent Living Program supports youth and young adults as they build the skills, confidence and stability needed for adulthood. Support is individualized and gradually changes as each young person becomes more independent.

Level 1 — Supported Living

24/7 staff support in a structured, supportive home while youth begin building daily living skills, confidence and independence.

Level 2 — Supported Apartment

More independence with continued support.

Youth begin managing daily routines, meals, budgeting, appointments and community responsibilities while staff remain available for guidance and support.

Level 3 — Semi-Independent Living

Greater independence with support nearby.

Youth manage most daily responsibilities independently, with regular staff check-ins and coaching.

Level 4 — Independent Living with Outreach Support

Independent living. Continued connection.

Youth live independently while staying connected to BWI for check-ins, guidance and support when needed.
